After a technical error destroys this week’s episode, we leave you with the audio from a podcast we did with our friends from the Game Fix podcast. In this pod, we go around the table listing fictional characters from across pop culture who might be worthy enough to wield Thor’s hammer, Mjölnir. It was a great time that ended up a great podcast, so get in here and see who may indeed be worthy!

What if drones, smart phones, and high tech Nerf weaponry existed in the 80’s and 90’s? How would of our little mind comprehended such technology? And what would’ve they evolved into come present day? Come on in and hear our picks!

After an exhausting weekend at the convention, and a week off to recover, we return with another thrilling episode! We welcome comic creator Travis Sengaus to the show this week to first help us celebrate the career of Tom Hanks in our Retro Roundtable. With a long list to choose from, there’s hardly a soul alive who doesn’t have a favorite Tom Hanks Film. Apollo 13, Sully, Castaway, Captain Phillips….on second thought, let’s title this Retro Roundtable “Why You Should Never Travel With Tom Hanks!”

Then we turn our attention to Travis to discuss his comic BIG HITTERS, which was successfully funded on Kickstarter. BIG HITTERS is a full-color sci-fi, buddy comedy, action/adventure crime story about a pair of hitmen trying to make a living on both sides of the law in a post-war galaxy. Think Lethal Weapon in space meets Guardians of the Galaxy in the streets, raised on Saturday morning cartoons and R-Rated movies. Be sure to head over to

Greetings loyal listeners and welcome to our coverage of the 2017 Wizard World Columbus Comic Con! We had a great time, met a lot of amazingly talented people, and watched a lot of great entertainment!
We started in Artist Alley where Jake interviews Ryan Ruffatti of the comic Teleport, and friend of the show Brian Lau and his comic Staunch Ambition. Two great comics that you won’t want to miss, so come in and hear all about them.

This week we focus our attention on one of most influential, and misunderstood, organizations of the 20th century, Playboy. In this weeks Retro Roundtable, we discuss our memories of the magazine, our desires to visit the Playboy mansion, and that some of us did actually read the articles as well!

We then welcome author Patty Farmer to the show to discuss her new book, Playboy Laughs: The Comedy, Comedians, and Cartoons of Playboy.

Playboy Laughs invites readers onto the sets of the organization’s groundbreaking TV shows, Playboy Penthouse and Playboy After Dark. These popular variety series brought top-tier comedians, impressionists, and monologists―as well as the finest musicians―into people’s homes each week.

Readers will learn how before he ever dreamed of conquering the magazine publishing world―and along the way establish a worldwide brand―Hugh Hefner harbored aspirations of making his mark in the world as a cartoonist.

Playboy Laughs delves into the darker aspects of the time as well, tackling the ways Playboy and its comedy stars helped break down social and racial barriers as well as sexual ones.

Known for her devotion to meticulous research and clear, honest storytelling, Farmer has gained the full cooperation of the Playboy organization―and Hugh Hefner himself―making this not only an entertaining read but a trustworthy history of an under-appreciated aspect of American comic culture.

Be sure to visit and pick up a copy of Playboy Laughs!

This week we talk all things Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! We start by discussing our favorite Heroes in a Half Shell in this week’s Retro Roundtable. We share how we first discovered the Turtles, the highlights from the movies and shows, and how owning the Technodrome toy back in the day meant you’re a “Rich Kid”.

Then we are honored to welcome co-creator of the Turtles Kevin Eastman to the show! We not only talk TMNT with Kevin, but we also discuss Drawing Blood: The Stories Behind the Stories, his new comic series coming to Kickstarter August 1st.

Drawing Blood is a dark-comic-drama (dramadey?), the story behind the stories, a look inside the twisted life of a professional cartoonist. A roller-coaster of show biz and sex, fame and infamy, controlled substances and uncontrolled artists, genius and goons, this series takes you into the darkest corners of a mad world only talked about in the hotel bars of a Comic Con.

Drawing Blood is co-created by Kevin Eastman and filmmaker/ comic book writer, David Abalone. Don’t miss your chance to back this amazing project. It’s the only way to achieve true TURTLE POWER!

We welcome Mark Schmidt back to the show this week, and Ray Dillon makes his first appearance on yet another great installment of Canned Air!

First, in this week’s Retro Roundtable, titled "Fantastic Places and Where to Find Them”, we take turns sharing what fictional place we would most like to visit. With so many stretching across pop culture, it’s hard to pick just one. Narnia? The Mushroom Kingdom? Latveria…? Come in and see if we name your favorite fictional place.

Then we turn our full attention to Mark and Ray to discuss The Threat, relaunching on Kickstarter very soon. In the not too distant future, humanity is dying at apocalyptic rates. The only solution is through Recombinant DNA, which causes mutations in a small percentage of the population. These people become know as VIRALS.
As cybernetically enhanced humans patrol the streets of Houston, preserving a hellish segregation, those who work for ANITEC are protected in their lives of luxury, while the rest are left to scrape together what life they can in the dangerous under-streets of the city. But there are still some, who will rise to seize a better future, becoming a THREAT to those who would keep them down. Keep an eye out for this Kickstarter for your chance to support The Threat!

With no guest joining us, we decided to bring you our second installment of our ‘What If…’ series. In this episode, we discuss how life might have changed had aliens actually crashed a UFO in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947. And what if the government couldn’t deny it ever happened? How would our methods of transportation evolve? How deep would we be able to fly into space? Would the aliens be friendly or hostile? The possibilities are endless! This is a DON’T MISS episode for any lovers of UFOs and science fiction. Get in here!!
